Standar ISO 719

Test Materials: ISO 719 specifies the use of glass grains (or glass fragments) for the test, which must be in a finely divided form. The test requires distilled or deionized water, with no trace of mineral salts, as the hydrolyzing medium.
Test Process: The glass grains are placed in a test vessel, where they are subjected to a temperature of 98°C for a specified duration. After this treatment, the glass is immersed in water to determine its hydrolytic resistance.
Test Result Interpretation: Results are interpreted based on the appearance of the glass after treatment. The test assesses the degree of surface attack, and the level of resistance is determined by the amount of glass dissolution or degradation observed after the treatment.
